Starting off on our review for the 2015 Yamaha YZF r3 this is not exactly a beginner’s review this is more of an experienced riders review. On my background, I just swapped this for a 2012 or Pearlie atomo know that I’ve been riding this Yamaha R3 for about five years. I was just tired of paying the ungodly amounts of mechanical fees and everything started to go wrong with it so I just decided to cut my ties well. I was ahead and swapped for this thing this is a brand new motorcycle from Yamaha first year model so just some observations for it. If you’re looking to get one of the East you’re looking for a commuter bike I highly recommend this motorcycle. It’s very agile very nimble you’ll be pleasantly surprised I’m a 5 foot 10 rider about a hundred eighty pounds and I fit comfortably on this bike.
There are some knee issues where I have to kick my feet off of these low foot pegs here and just kind of hang out on the freeway but that’s no big deal. There’s a minor vibration at about 75 miles an hour which is about all I’ve been able to get it up. I’m still in the break-in period but it’s a good motorcycle it really is. The only things that I would improve on this thing are probably the mirrors. It is absolutely useless if you’re about 5 foot 8 or above you’re not gonna be able to see a thing. You’re gonna be able to see your shoulders no matter how you adjust it. You can’t move your arm to actually see behind you it’s frustrating. Invest in some bar ends or same extenders to solve that issue. Another thing is the brake pad it’s single disc brake in the front no big deal because the compression really works. It complements this bike well you can engine brake all the way down the first gear. It’ll pretty much slow you to a stop if you know how to do it properly. Don’t try and just pop your clutch and spin your rear tire and flip over and explode.
All right so we’re gonna move over to the side of the bike. These are some apps these saddlebags I got on here. This is some kind of custom thing I’m gonna have to figure out. This isn’t made for the r3 I just kind of Jimmy rig this. It’s good to have storage on a motorcycle, especially for a commuter bike. I did 150 miles on this motorcycle just going through some of the canyons here in Southern California it was very comfortable. I had no back or shoulder issues whatsoever very agile on the corners. The bricks were decent you know I was able to endian break for most of it or just trail break up some of the corners. You can watch in all the other videos it’s whatever there’s gonna be an act of provocation shortly so you know follow them pull it along on that.
Moving into the electronics alright so here’s the heads-up display. You’ve got a fuel gauge temperature gauge damage. It’s not quite catching it properly but all right you’ve got a gear shift indicator which is absolutely awesome that you’ve got variations on your odometer. Some other different trip one trip two miles per gallon average miles per gallon 54. I mean holy crap it’s really really a fun motorcycle very easy to move around on even if you’re a beginner or an experienced rider. It’s a lot of fun clutch pulls very light this is fantastic wind protection just this stock windscreen affords you a lot of fantastic wind protection. Like I said with these mirrors they’re just absolutely useless. To see if I can get this right so this is pretty much what you’re gonna see when you’re riding. It’s just your shoulder or your arm it’s ridiculous. These big things just flop around at speed I’d recommend getting a flush mount kit for this thing. What I have on the way transmission like I said it’s very steady no issues with that very comfortable motorcycle. I highly recommend this bike to anybody’s looking at all right so you can actually see this in normal life. Alright so there’s your low beam is your high beam turns out both excellent visibility can’t really tell the excellent visibility.
