We’re taking out this beautiful Suzuki GSX R750 what a lovely little machine. We’re going to go out and have a bit of a jaunt on it. As we go and then stop and talk about the little bits on the bike. The Suzuki GSX R750 sports bike how small and how sweet it is. This almost reminds me of the Kawasaki er6n the way that it feels. It’s a naked bike and they call it the apex predator. This bike and I’ve got to say that it looks really smart. The bike is quite nice rather than sat on the bike and I’m slightly forward but that’s not an issue. I like the dashboard you’ve got everything all of your rev counter across. I ride a GS that the pegs are a little bit higher than they would normally be.
Now let’s take it out on the road and see what it’s like. This bike is 213 kilos and it’s got about 115 brake horsepower about 84. It’s a talking the bike really smooth it just purrs like the sound of it. Coming from a boxer engine it’s really nice to have a parry bike. Obviously with the naked bike you’re gonna get a lot of wind on your shoulders and face. This is a fun little nimble bike already and I’ve really liked it. Takes me back to my days of the er6n I had which was such good fun that one was a little bit of ivy now. It makes me feel like I’m at one with the road and it’s quite strange because I haven’t thought for a long time. I can be on my GS adventure from the riding experience which is quite a strange thing to say. I do feel connected with my ride on the GS adventure but behind all the screen and things and it’s been quite a while because of the weather down in Cornwall.
It feels so nice the throttle is really responsive there’s not much giving it. If just knock it off literally there’s like a sweet spot that kind of with a bit of practice and a bit of play you’d be able to catch that. With the throttle just to keep it going, the seat is really comfortable it’s really quite big. It’s got like this domi bit and that’s cupping my buttocks quite nicely and pushing me down into the tank. It pushing me forward given me that forward position holding on to the bars. Even though I am slightly forward on the bars it almost feels a little bit angled up towards the back of the bike. Meaning that my whole body is forward so I’m not overly stretching for the handlebars. I think the handlebars are really a quite good width apart.
They’re not too wide and they’re not too thin or too close together feels just a really nice comfortable position. The mirrors are exceptionally good I like the shape of it and I can see everything behind me. I can see all the cars I see mark behind me on another bike that he’s reviewing. The shape of the mirrors is quite good so it gives me all of that visibility behind without having my big elbows in the way. I think it is a really good point that it’s quite nimble you know 213 kilos and it’s really responsive. Some people will probably say what do you mean by that. You know all bikes responsive but if you ride quite a lot of different bikes. The steering’s it’s responsive but sometimes some bikes are much more responsive than others. This one literally I do feel like I’m so connected with the road with the bike experience I mean literally just a little tiny wobble on the steering.
The suspension set up is good it’s quite a firm ride but not too firm. It’s quite comfortable to ride I feel quite calmly but I feel quite surprisingly pleased with the comfort. Now the switchgear and stuff are across the board you got your mode you select your headlight, your horn, and your indicators. On the left-hand side, you’ve got the kill switch your hazards and your starter switch. On the right-hand side, all really standard stuff really good defined switchgear from Suzuki and they’re going with a tried and tested switchgear. They’ve had on most of their bikes they do have a key with this one.
Now my GS Adventure is keyless and I’ve kind of got used to not having a key on my bike and that’s really good. I also do like having a king because you know you’ve got it in there searching around your pockets trying to find your key. I do quite like having a king and in terms of it being a naked bike, there’s nothing in front of you. I think when you start looking at screens and bikes with screens it’s all well and good having those bikes with screens. As I found lots of different bikes in the past you’ve then got to look at a different screen and then it might cause buffeting.
Then you feel quite sick and you spend lots of money putting loads of different things on this bike. It’s the sling over and tie on luggage is we’re going to go onto one of my favorite roads. It’s called the winners perch Road until to my left is Padstow to my front is Weybridge and to my right, we’re going to head towards Santos. I do notice that the indicator button is a little bit got to get used to it. There’s nothing wrong with it it’s just got to feel your way to find it because it’s quite small. It does give you quite a lot of good feedback as do all these buttons. There’s no problem with going around corners on this bike and not having panties. You know I had forgotten what riding a naked bike was like. I’ve also forgotten what riding a bike that’s really light and has no panniers anywhere.
I can ride these bikes you know and it just it corners. It’s on Rails really nice 750 cc of all those talks and horsepowers and all that sort of stuff doing all the things that you need it. Unfortunately on the cornish roads, we have lots and lots of gravel and stuff so we need to watch out for that. The clutch is a bit bitey I think it might be because I’m just not used to riding this bike. It’s a defined clutch movement so it’s either in or out. I’m sure that with a bit of experience after riding the bike you will get used to it. This little 750 and I’m sure there will be people that say what do you mean little 750 is quite a big engine. It is especially where there’s hardly any weight to the bike. I’m really enjoying this bike and you can see what I mean about the road. It’s got some lovely twists these donuts got something nice it’s almost straight bit C. You could get a bit of speed up and really put the bike to test a little bit. I would have to get used to as I saying a little bit earlier is the way that the throttle is really defined.
It’s so defined that it’s so so miniscule in its movement that will do something. As I just take the power off around a corner I can really feel it coming off. I’d have to really get used to but you can ride this as smoothly as you like. I can see but if you were gonna have one of these bikes that this would be just an awesome machine. The brakes are really good now I’ve almost forgotten I got on the bike as saying that the pedals seemed a lot higher.
The seat position because it’s throwing you forward I don’t feel that my knees are up to my chest. I’m compressed or held back in any way I feel that I’m really comfortable. I’d say that Suzuki has really got the seating position right for this bike. It really does put you just in the right position to do all the things that you need to do. Being thinner gets really close to the hedge and still gets around here with a view. How cool is that and that burr being is you come through. You can hear out but changing up with this bike really loves it loves to be ridden this bike.
